Cellist Mimi Morris-Kim, a native of Haddonfield, New Jersey performs widely throughout the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area. This season has included concerts with the Riverside Symphonia, the Delaware Symphony and the Strauss Symphony of America. She performs chamber music with her string trio Sebastian, Rittenhouse ensembles and her husband, pianist Leonard Kim as well as with the new music ensemble Collide-O-Scope. She teachers at the Princeton String Academy and is a certified Suzuki teacher. Before moving back to NJ she lived in Michigan and was a long time member of the Ann Arbor Symphony. She also frequently performed with Woodward Corridor ensembles and Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings. She holds a doctorate in music performance from the University of Michigan, a masters from the University of Minnesota and an undergraduate degree in cello performance from Rice University in Houston. She has attended some of the most prestigious summer music festivals in the United States, including Music Academy of the West, Blossom Festival and Kneisel Hall.
