Brian Yank has a B.A. in Music Performance (Jazz Guitar) from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He has studied jazz guitar with Ted Dunbar and classical guitar with Francis Perry. Brian has played acoustic and electric guitar in many ensembles over the years in many styles including jazz, folk, bluegrass, blues, classical and classic rock.
He was a member of the band Wood N’ Strings that opened for John Sebastian, Stephen Stills and the New Grass Revival and toured the East Coast. Currently, Brian freelances on guitar in New Jersey and teaches guitar from his home studio. He has taught guitar, mandolin and bass lessons at the Rivoli School of Music and Farrington’s Music.
Brian also enjoys playing guitar, fiddle and dobro in a local acoustic band called the Barncats that plays folk, country, blues and bluegrass music.
Brian resides in Lawrence Township with his wife An and their daughters, Jacqueline and Cynthia.
