Whether it's a string quartet, a harpist, a singer/guitarist, or a cocktail pianist, live music will make your Jersey wedding romantic and fun! We'll help the two of you pick out the sound and style that is perfect for you.

Sara and Alex

Sara and Alex held their wedding ceremony outdoors in sunny July at the beautiful Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove. They opted for a solo violinist to perform their favorite melodies, and Heather played their chosen program of love songs in her signature joyful style! Then she capped off the ceremony with a rousing Siman Tov as the couple exited to the cheers of their family and friends. Photographer Dana Slifer captured these exceptional shots of the couple and Heather.

Sara's comment: "Heather was amazing and the music was beautiful! She was professional and organized. We got a lot of compliments on the music. Thanks again for everything. From the initial conversation to my wedding, your staff is helpful and so kind!"

Alain and Melissa

Alain and Melissa got married amid May flowers at Stirling's Primavera Regency. The Sweet Harmony String Quartet provided the soundtrack to their ceremony, which included magical Disney love songs during the prelude. As a special twist, the couple requested us to play the entrance music for their flower girl as a solo violinist only -- so the little girl made her walk down the aisle to the sweet solo melody of Disney's "When You Wish Upon a Star." Then the full quartet swept in for Melissa's grand entrance to the classic Bridal Chorus ("Here Comes the Bride")!

We were stunned by the beautiful work of Lifetyme Photo and Video, who captured each one of our musicians in a moment of action.

After the wedding, groom Alain summed it up: "Everything came out perfecto." ¡Gracias, Alain!

Praise for Karen and Flip

From one of Karen's brides, Sarah: "We can’t express how grateful we are to Karen and the Sweet Harmony team for an unbelievable performance during our wedding ceremony on 1.21.24. ... Karen was attentive, easy to communicate with and really made sure she knew what our expectations for the wedding were. We cannot thank you enough for all the hard work that was put into our wedding."

From another of Karen's brides, Ping: "They did a fantastic job for my wedding! I chose a trio with harp, cello and violin. I’m so glad I made the decision to book them. The harpist, Karen, is a very happy and cheerful person. She was so patient in helping me make decisions on wedding music selections and addressing all my concerns as I was so indecisive sometimes. As captain of the trio, she also did a fantastic job in leading the whole group and playing the beautiful music with harmony. The pace, melody, and theme all were perfect for a church ceremony. I would say it was flawless and sounded like heaven! I highly recommend them!"

And from one of Flip's brides, Erika: "We got married in a beautiful garden on an autumn afternoon and knew that we wanted a guitarist for our ceremony music- I stumbled upon Sweet Harmony’s page and just knew based on their sample videos that we found our guitarist. Sweet Harmony provided the perfect mix of contemporary and traditional songs for our wedding and made what was an already stressful process completely seamless. We are so grateful for our guitarist Flip, he was excellent!"

About Karen

Karen Stern is a busy harpist in the New York and Philadelphia area — she enjoys sharing beautiful music with kind audiences and appreciates the warm and welcoming atmosphere they offer her.

Karen earned a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University and a Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, both under her beloved teacher Lucile Lawrence. She grew up in Edison, NJ, where her mom, Toni Stern, also a harpist, began teaching Karen piano at age five. Two years later, Toni brought Karen to her own first harp teacher, Leone Paulson, to begin playing the harp at age seven.

Karen performed regularly with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for many years, participating in the orchestra’s two trips to Ireland, and can be heard on several of their CDs. She was a soloist in Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp during their 1997 Mozart Festival.

Karen’s additional orchestral experience includes performances with American Symphony Orchestra, NYC Ballet, American Ballet Theater, NYC Opera and Broadway shows. She has been harpist with Garden State Opera, Caldwell, and Trilogy Opera Co., NJPAC, Newark. One of Karen’s most fun performances was with the West Point Band for the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks.

Her career has been varied, from high tea harpist at the Waldorf and St. Regis Hotels, to cruise ship harpist on Caribbean and trans-Atlantic voyages. Her harp and flute duo, The Levin/Stern Duo (with flutist Sharon Levin), was presented in their NYC debut as winners of the Young Artists Chamber Music Award. They have concertized locally, in Europe, South and Central America.
